The Get into Genes story

Since its inception during 2004 the Get into Genes program:

  • Has delivered workshops to more than 20,000 students in Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.
  • Links to Year 9 to Year 12 curriculum.
  • Educates students about applications of biotechnology in dairy and agriculture.
  • Is delivered by post-graduate research student presenters, who encourage and inspire Get into Genes participants.
  • Contains assessment materials for students studying senior biology.
  • Incorporates teacher professional development workshops where requested.
